"Physics of Flight" the educational animal program with Bob Tarter will be at Williamson County Public Library August 6, 2015. There will be 3 shows: 2:30pm, 4:00pm, and 6:00pm.

From WCPL:
Come meet and learn about owls, hawks, and more! "Physics of Flight" offers a fascinating view of nature’s first fliers, or “gliders”, and how they uniquely navigate their habitat. Come and meet live birds and other animals that fly!

Three programs are scheduled so that kids wll have the opportunity to see the animals up close. Program times are 2:30, 4:30, and 6:30 p.m.

The Natural History Educational Company of the Midsouth (NHECM) was incorporated by Bob Tarter in 2005. Apart from being a life long nature enthusiast, Bob has a degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) and spent time as a biologist for Ducks Unlimited and with the Department of Natural Resources for the State of Indiana as a wildlife researcher and biologist. Bob lives with his wife, Beth, and their son, along with the entire NHECM animal family, in Middle TN.

His programs are designed for school-age children. Youth attending need to be able to sit and follow directions so as not to startle the animals or Bob. Young ones are not allowed to touch the animals.

  1. All three programs are free too. I usually bring my kids to the last program because, well, I'm at work at the library until 5:40 and it's less crowded. Last year we were all front row on the floor practically face to face with the animal guests. The bat that came last year was adorable.
